Viral DNA/RNA Extraction Kits

We can supply different types of viral nucleic acid extraction kits.

1. Spin Column based extraction
   ​
   Spin columns can be used to quickly extract viral DNA and RNA from a variety of liquid samples such as human feces extract, swab buffer (UTM), etc.  The purified viral nucleic acid can then be directly used in downstream applications such as PCR, cloning, sequencing. Spin columns based kits use the guanidinium lysis method to release the nucleic acid of pathogen in the sample. At the same time, the nucleic acid is adsorbed by a silica gel membrane, purified by washing and recovered by elution.​​
    

2. Magnetic beads based extraction
   
   ​Magnetic beads have been used for DNA/RNA extraction for decades. Under specific buffer conditions, the superparamagnetism of magnetic beads leads to the adsorption of nucleic acid. The beads can then be captured by a magnet and go through several washing steps. After properly washing, the nucleic acid is released in an elution buffer. This method is often automated thanks to nucleic acid extraction instruments like the Thermo Scientific KingFisher. We can offer ready-to-use kits dedicated to this instrument as well as the required plastic consumable.
